This grilled chicken recipe is all about big, bold flavour—thanks to a paprika-heavy dry rub with garlic, cumin, and a touch of cayenne. Grilled until charred and juicy, then finished with a splash of lemon and a fresh herb garnish, it’s a backyard BBQ staple elevated with a gourmet twist.

 

Perfect for summer evenings, meal prep, or entertaining, this dish delivers heat, smokiness, and freshness all in one bite.

Smoky Paprika Grilled Chicken brings together rustic spices and fire-grilled depth. It’s incredibly versatile—serve it with rice, grilled veg, flatbread, or a bright salad.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • To Finish

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  • Chopped parsley or cilantro

  • Nutri Green Microgreens

Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, cayenne, salt, pepper, and lemon juice to form a marinade.
     

  2. Add chicken and coat thoroughly. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (or up to 8 hours for deeper flavour).
     

  3. Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until cooked through and nicely charred with crisp edges. Internal temp should reach 165°F (74°C).
     

  4. Remove from grill and rest for 5 minutes. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
     

  5. Serve with a sprinkle of chopped parsley or cilantro and Nutri Green microgreens for brightness. Excellent with roasted potatoes, grilled corn, or rice pilaf.
     

  6. Top with Nutri Green microgreens of your choice!
